101 Distribution has announced the launch of 101 Arena, the first and only free streaming music service to pay 100 percent of all advertising revenue generated directly to artists and content owners. This solution comes in response to growing controversy surrounding marginal payments for unlimited listens through popular services like Grooveshark, Spotify, RDIO, Rhapsody and others.

"101 Arena will be the most functionally disruptive business model today's music industry will be forced to embrace," said Damon Evans, executive director of 101 Distribution, the nation's only full-service, independently owned music and film distributor that offers 100 percent payout to artists for all sales. "No streaming service in operation today can accommodate free consumer access and 100 percent ad revenue payout to artists."

Greetings VRCA supporters and all others who appreciate great music.  It's time for the 15th ANNUAL VRCA MEMORIAL WEEKEND COLLECTORS SIT-IN. This year the Annual Sit-in will be held in Philadelphia. For those who have attended in the past, you know the score. For those who haven’t, it promises to be a great weekend of music, friendship, camaraderie and more music.

The VRCA will be providing great music for 4 days, starting Friday May 25th with a Meet and Greet at The Ritz, an Oldies Party on Saturday, May 26th, the awards/honouring banquet on Sunday, May 27th, at The Oaks Ballroom in Glenolden, and ending with a session in Fairmount Park on Monday May 28th.

Last time I crossed paths with music artist, writer, director and producer Delus, we were in the studio of web radio station Caribbean 94 in Philadelphia. He had just released My Reality and was wrapping up a promotional tour.  Another well-received tune, “Another Gal”, and a tour in Japan followed.   It was definitely a good year.

On my most recent excursion to Jamaica, I found myself faced with the option of spending my days lounging on a beach in Ocho Rios or heading to Kingston to talk music.  Not much of a choice.

So I threw the beach towel aside, traded in the flip flops for comfortable heels, made a quick phone call to set up an interview, and set out on a bus ride that I won’t soon forget.  Two hours, and enough car sickness to last a lifetime, later, I was sitting with Mr. Everton Hardware, better known as Singing Melody.

Romain who is known for his chart-toppers Caan Sleep, Who Feels It Knows It, Wanna Go Home,System and more, won the coveted “Male Vocalist of the Year”, “Most Consistent Artiste of the Year” and “Recording Artiste of the Year” awards. Guerilla Music Productions C.E.O. Anthony Hibbert was born and raised in a community called Stanpipe in the parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica. He migrated to Toronto, Canada at age fourteen and got his first music lessons from the late Jackie Mittoo, keyboardist, songwriter and musical director who was instrumental in creating hits such as Frankie Paul’s Pass The Tu Sheng Peng, Freddie McGregor’s Bobby Babylon, Alton Ellis I’m Still In Love With You, the Cables Baby Why and Marcia Griffiths first hit, Feel Like Jumping. He also credits former Lead Singer of Reggae group The Heptones, Leroy Sibbles and Jojo Bennett.
