Eighty-degree weather and clear skies greeted over 5000 patrons Saturday, July 9th as CCB International and Six Flags Great Adventure came together in celebration of Tempo Network’s 6th Anniversary.
The air of excitement was undeniable in the New Jersey theme park, as the Caribbean massive converged on Northern Star Arena from early in anticipation of seeing some of the Caribbean’s most prolific music artists perform on the main stage. “It’s all about Six Flags Tempo Turns 6,” said CCB International representative Jerome. “We’re here, we’re live, it’s on and poppin’. I think this is going to be our best year.”

For the 3rd year in a row, Marvin-T and his Trini crew succeeded in taking the Philadelphia massive down memory lane and back again. This time around, Club Festivals in West Philly played host to the bashment, treating attendees to a more upscale setting. The night started out slowly, with party-goers trickling in one-by-one. But with Teddy Mohammed and Marvin-T on the turntables from early on, everyone was on the dancefloor in short order. |

Last weekend, the cold weather decided to take up residence in Philadelphia. Yeah, we could probably expect to see a few more 80-degree days over the next month, but for the most part, the summer was at an end. Temperatures plummeted as the night approached on Saturday. But nothing was going to stop the Caribbean massive from welcoming one of their own.

Once again, Labor Day has come and gone, but not without first treating the New York populace to a spectacular display of Caribbean culture. The weekend kicked off with the Clash of the Calypso Titans on Thursday, featuring some of the Caribbean’s most exciting Soca & Kaiso super-stars from many of the Islands. What followed were more events showcasing the rich, energetic Caribbean cultural heritage, culminating in the Carnival Parade up Eastern Parkway.
