Last weekend, the cold weather decided to take up residence in Philadelphia. Yeah, we could probably expect to see a few more 80-degree days over the  next month, but for the most part, the summer was at an end. Temperatures plummeted as the night approached on Saturday. But nothing was going to stop the Caribbean massive from welcoming one of their own.Benjai, Mr. Swanky himself, stopped through at the behest of Dreamboys Entertainment, ready to put a fire up under a city almost frozen through. But before he could get the show started, mi have a chance to kick back and touch base on a few things. Last time we crossed paths, Benjai came through the studio of Caribbean94 for an on-air interview. He was working on promoting his latest releases and was every bit the energized entertainer that we've come to know and love from a distance, watching him perform on stage.  This time was no different, except he was sporting a new, more clean-cut look, and we decided to catch up outside of the venue.Mr. Swanky was out and about promoting a host of new tunes released this year. "Alive", "Fun Fun", and "Drunk Again" are just a few of Benjai's songs in heavy rotation on Caribbean radio stations from California to Europe. "Drunk Again" actually earned him 3rd place in the 2009 Groovy Soca Monarch competition in Trinidad. But the man's not content to rest on his laurels, which is what brought him to Philly. "I'm always on tour," said Benjai. And as to what's next, well you can expect to see him in Miami for Carnival. For the fans wanting to link him, you might want to check out Girl Power and Miami Vice. And if you're really lucky, you might just catch him at his hotel on strip. But in the meantime, feel free to purchase his latest releases on I-tunes, and watch for an exciting, new, swanky sound in the near future.
