Kingston, Jamaica – LIME has taken the ‘E’ or entertainment element of their brand to another level by partnering with the Caribbean’s first globally syndicated television series to showcase Jamaican talents and culture to over 22 million viewers through a programme called In The Dance.
The new 13-week season will hit television screens starting July 1 on local broadcast partner TVJ, and viewers are promised an exciting show each week. Speaking at the June 16th launch at the Quad Night Club in Kingston, LIME Jamaica’s Marketing Commander Stephen Pryce said, “Dance is in our genetic makeup. It’s a part of our heritage which helps to define us as a people both locally and internationally. Our support of In The Dance once again demonstrates LIME’s longstanding commitment to culture as we seek more ways to integrate LIME further in the everyday life of our people.”
Well known choreographer and featured dancer Kerry Ann Henry in commending LIME said the talent of Jamaica dancers is often overlooked and the format of the show provides excellent exposure locally and across the globe for Jamaican dancers while creating a forum for their individual expression. One key element of the show is the ‘Street Crews’ segment which shines the spotlight on individual dance crews and showcases how it really happens in the dancehall”.
Each episode of In The Dance will feature six key elements including music juggling by disc jockeys, performances by top artistes, highlights of solo dancers, a dance crew contest and a trip to a popular Jamaican tourist spot.
